The submission of applications to enter the lottery has ended on April 1st 2012 at 5:00 PM. Any applications submitted after April 1st 2012 5PM will be included on the list beginning April 11th 2012.
ADMISSION FOR THE 2012–2013 SCHOOL YEAR
The New York French-American Charter School (NYFACS) is a free, public school. Admission to NYFACS is by lottery. For the 2012–2013 school year, we will have grades K through 4.
Applications for the 2012–2013 school year will be available on this website and at the school on JANUARY 6TH, 2012. Applications will be accepted from January 6th through 5 PM on April 1st.
The lottery will be held on Tuesday, April 10th, 2012 at 5:30 PM at the school, which is located at 311 West 120th Street.
You must be a resident of New York State in order to apply for a space for your child. Details of lottery policies and procedures will be posted at a later date.
ADMISSIONS EVENTS
NYFACS will be hosting a number of events this fall and winter for prospective parents/guardians who are interested in a space for their child for the 2012–2013 school year. School tours will be available a couple of times per week during the school day—please check back to this website for dates and times.
We will be having open houses for prospective parents. Open house dates and times are:
Saturday, November 12th from 10 AM to 12 noon
(please respond by November 9th)
Thursday, December 1st from 6 PM to 8 PM
(please respond by November 28th)
Saturday, January 14th from 10 AM to 12 noon
(please respond by January 11thth)
Thursday, February 9th from 6 PM to 8 PM
(please respond by February 6th)

ADMISSION FOR THE SCHOOL YEAR (2012–2013)

Applications should be sent to Enrollment, NYFACS, 311 West 120th Street, New York, NY 10027.
Post Lottery: Placement notices will be mailed to all applicants.
For Admission Process, please attach a copy of one proof of residency. Proof of residency documents include:
- Document from a federal, state, or city agency that includes home address
- Recent gas, electric or water bill in resident’s name
- Deed to a house or lease agreement in resident’s name
- Document from City Housing Authority or the Human Resources Administration that includes home address
- Official payroll documentation from an employer such as a form submitted for tax withholding purposes (W-4) or a payroll receipt/pay stub.
