The sub­mis­sion of appli­ca­tions to enter the lot­tery has ended on April 1st 2012 at 5:00 PM.  Any appli­ca­tions sub­mit­ted after April 1st 2012 5PM will be included on the list begin­ning April 11th 2012.

 

ADMISSION FOR THE 2012–2013 SCHOOL YEAR

The New York French-American Char­ter School (NYFACS) is a free, pub­lic school.  Admis­sion to NYFACS is by lot­tery.  For the 2012–2013 school year, we will have grades K through 4.

Appli­ca­tions for the 2012–2013 school year will be avail­able on this web­site and at the school on JANUARY 6TH, 2012.  Appli­ca­tions will be accepted from Jan­u­ary 6th through  5 PM on April 1st.

 

The lot­tery will be held on Tues­day, April 10th, 2012 at 5:30 PM at the school, which is located at 311 West 120th Street.

 

You must be a res­i­dent of New York State in order to apply for a space for your child.  Details of lot­tery poli­cies and pro­ce­dures will be posted at a later date.

 

ADMISSIONS EVENTS

NYFACS will be host­ing a num­ber of events this fall and win­ter for prospec­tive parents/guardians who are inter­ested in a space for their child for the 2012–2013 school year.  School tours will be avail­able a cou­ple of times per week dur­ing the school day—please check back to this web­site for dates and times.

We will be hav­ing open houses for prospec­tive par­ents.  Open house dates and times are:


Sat­ur­day, Novem­ber 12th  from 10 AM to 12 noon

Post Lot­tery: Place­ment notices will be mailed to all applicants.

For Admis­sion Process, please attach a copy of one proof of res­i­dency.  Proof of res­i­dency doc­u­ments include:

  • Doc­u­ment from a fed­eral, state, or city agency that includes home address
  • Recent gas, elec­tric or water bill in resident’s name
  • Deed to a house or lease agree­ment in resident’s name
  • Doc­u­ment from City Hous­ing Author­ity or the Human Resources Admin­is­tra­tion that includes home address
  • Offi­cial pay­roll doc­u­men­ta­tion from an employer such as a form sub­mit­ted for tax with­hold­ing pur­poses (W-4) or a pay­roll receipt/pay stub.
