Openings for academic year 2012–2013:
Classroom Teacher in French
New York French-American Charter School needs a full-time elementary teacher of French. Must be native speaker who was schooled in the French system. Must be a legal US worker. Starting Date: August 2012.
NYFACS starts each August with a multiple week staff development program. (We follow the NYC DOE student school calendar for opening day each year.)
Compensation: The New York French-American Charter School considers instructional staff to be its most valuable resource and is dedicated to supporting and compensating staff appropriately. All teachers will receive a competitive salary and benefits package as well as time and support for professional growth.
Hiring Process: NYFACS will be accepting teacher applications for the 2011–2012 school year starting April 2012 until all positions are filled. Applications will be reviewed regularly. Highly qualified applicants will be contacted. For those screened and contacted, interviews over the phone and in person will be arranged. Candidates should come prepared for active discussions around experience, co-teaching, technology skills, curriculum development. In addition, candidates will be asked to demonstrate technology skill as well as present a lesson plan. Those advanced to the next round of the recruitment process will teach in our classroom for an observation period and interview with our teacher team before being offered a position.
