Class­room Teacher in French

New York French-American Char­ter School needs a full-time ele­men­tary teacher of French. Must be native speaker who was schooled in the French sys­tem. Must be a legal US worker. NY teacher cer­ti­fi­ca­tion is desired but not required. Must be bilin­gual in French and Eng­lish. class­room teacher job description

NYFACS starts each August with a mul­ti­ple week staff devel­op­ment pro­gram. (We fol­low the NYC DOE stu­dent school cal­en­dar for open­ing day each year.)

 

Com­pen­sa­tion: The New York French-American Char­ter School con­sid­ers instruc­tional staff to be its most valu­able resource and is ded­i­cated to sup­port­ing and com­pen­sat­ing staff appro­pri­ately.  All teach­ers will receive a com­pet­i­tive salary and ben­e­fits pack­age as well as time and sup­port for pro­fes­sional growth.

 

Hir­ing Process: NYFACS will be accept­ing teacher appli­ca­tions for the 2011–2012 school year start­ing April 2012 until all posi­tions are filled. Appli­ca­tions will be reviewed reg­u­larly. Highly qual­i­fied appli­cants will be con­tacted. For those screened and con­tacted, inter­views over the phone and in per­son will be arranged. Can­di­dates should come pre­pared for active dis­cus­sions around expe­ri­ence, co-teaching, tech­nol­ogy skills, cur­ricu­lum devel­op­ment. In addi­tion, can­di­dates will be asked to demon­strate tech­nol­ogy skill as well as present a les­son plan. Those advanced to the next round of the recruit­ment process will teach in our class­room for an obser­va­tion period and inter­view with our teacher team before being offered a position.
