Oper­a­tions Assistant

The New York French-American Char­ter School is seek­ing an excep­tional indi­vid­ual for the Man­ager of

Finance and Account­ing posi­tion. The school is located on West 120th Street in New York City in a

vibrant and diverse neigh­bor­hood. The school is bilingual/biliterate (French/English) and is currently

serv­ing stu­dents in grades K through 3, with the addi­tion of one grade per year to reach K through 12.

The mis­sion of the New York French-American Char­ter School is to develop global cit­i­zens who are

well-prepared to assume lead­er­ship in a mul­ti­cul­tural society.

Report­ing to the Direc­tor of Finance and Oper­a­tions, he/she will main­tain a pleas­ant atti­tude being tactful

and cour­te­ous with all school per­son­nel, stu­dents and visitors.

The ideal can­di­date has a demon­strated track record and work in con­junc­tion with the School Direc­tor of

Oper­a­tions pro­vid­ing admin­is­tra­tive and oper­a­tional sup­port. Good com­mu­ni­ca­tion skills, both ver­bal and

writ­ten; ana­lyt­i­cal think­ing skills; and the abil­ity to multi-task and pri­or­i­tize are key skills sought. Strong

com­puter skills are required.

Rep­re­sen­ta­tive Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Man­age the Direc­tor of Oper­a­tions calendar

• Sched­ule meet­ings and appointments

• Track gen­eral oper­at­ing bud­get and donor reports.

• Coor­di­nate the pay­roll process.

• Orga­nize payment/invoicing sys­tem and pre­pare pay­ments and invoices for submittal.

• Work with finan­cial con­sul­tant and out­side audi­tor includ­ing assis­tance with prepar­ing year-end tax

paper­work (990, 1099’s, etc.)

• Man­age grants and donor funds.

• File, fax, mail doc­u­ments as needed

• Assist Direc­tor of Oper­a­tions in what­ever admin­is­tra­tive tasks needed

• Assist with Stu­dent Enroll­ment, Food Ser­vice, Trans­porta­tion, Supplies

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree Preferred

• Min­i­mum of (3) three years work expe­ri­ence in admin­is­tra­tive sup­port in a high paced environment

• Expe­ri­ence with coor­di­nat­ing an office and personnel.

• Pro­fi­ciency with Microsoft Office Appli­ca­tions required.

• Famil­iar­ity with DOE invoic­ing a plus.

• Excel­lent ver­bal and writ­ten communication
