Operations Assistant
The New York French-American Charter School is seeking an exceptional individual for the Manager of
Finance and Accounting position. The school is located on West 120th Street in New York City in a
vibrant and diverse neighborhood. The school is bilingual/biliterate (French/English) and is currently
serving students in grades K through 3, with the addition of one grade per year to reach K through 12.
The mission of the New York French-American Charter School is to develop global citizens who are
well-prepared to assume leadership in a multicultural society.
Reporting to the Director of Finance and Operations, he/she will maintain a pleasant attitude being tactful
and courteous with all school personnel, students and visitors.
The ideal candidate has a demonstrated track record and work in conjunction with the School Director of
Operations providing administrative and operational support. Good communication skills, both verbal and
written; analytical thinking skills; and the ability to multi-task and prioritize are key skills sought. Strong
computer skills are required.
Representative Job Duties and Responsibilities:
• Manage the Director of Operations calendar
• Schedule meetings and appointments
• Track general operating budget and donor reports.
• Coordinate the payroll process.
• Organize payment/invoicing system and prepare payments and invoices for submittal.
• Work with financial consultant and outside auditor including assistance with preparing year-end tax
paperwork (990, 1099’s, etc.)
• Manage grants and donor funds.
• File, fax, mail documents as needed
• Assist Director of Operations in whatever administrative tasks needed
• Assist with Student Enrollment, Food Service, Transportation, Supplies
Qualifications/Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
• Minimum of (3) three years work experience in administrative support in a high paced environment
• Experience with coordinating an office and personnel.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications required.
• Familiarity with DOE invoicing a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication
